The big one has come home with the Mighty Maroon and Gold!

Queanbeyan Netball Association took out the Division 1 South Coast Regional League competition over the weekend with a comprehensive 22-15 win over long time rivals Illawarra Netball Association . After 10 gruelling round matches the division 1 team sat on top of the ladder in first place going into finals.

Head coach Tina Phillips was delighted with the result, commending her team on an outstanding campaign.

Our Shooting trio Olivia Clark, Chelsea Holloway and Eleni Lolesio shot 250 goals across the 10 round games, adding another 56 over the two finals games, averaging 85% shooting accuracy across the weekend. On the other end of the court defensive trio Belinda Sutton, Alana Bowyer and Lanit Wuvuai were a masterclass, allowing only 114 goals to be scored against them, with no other team even coming close to that statistic. The mid court including Cassie Reid, Dana Holloway and newcomer Brooke James moved the ball through the court with skill and precision. Huge shout out also to our team Manager Sheree Styche for keeping us all in one piece across the weekend.

Our Division 2 team coached by Ateca Vucago and supported by Team Manager Tsila Solomos completed the round games in second place on the ladder. They played one of the most exciting games of the tournament in the Major semi-final, going into extra time twice, eventually winning the game by 2 points. The Grand Final was another nail biter with Queanbeyan coming out Runners Up.

Our Division 3 team, coached by Cindy Crowe and supported by Team Manager Kelly Lolesio attended regional league for the first time and got some great wins on the board, playing in some tightly contested games, finishing up with a very respectable fourth place.

Congratulations to all of the Players, Coaches, Managers, Umpires and our wonderful support crew on a very successful weekend for Queanbeyan Netball Association.
