Exciting news for Queanbeyan Netball Association. In late 2021 we were successful in obtaining a grant through the NSW Govt Stronger Country Community Funds. In round 4 of the grants for 2021 the program was aimed at enhancing female sporting facilities and increasing female participation in sport in regional NSW. With a strong focus on development of facilities, such as change rooms and bathrooms which can accommodate female athletes and participants of all abilities.
With the support of Queanbeyan Palerang Regional Council, we were successful in gaining one of the grants for the Palerang region of just under $500,000. This really is a significant investment for the local netball community and the benefits to our sport will be huge.
It has definitely taken some time to get to this point, where the building works are starting but are very excited to have gotten through a full season on netball and now the building can begin in the off season. The new building will include toilets, showers , baby change rooms, a social common area, kitchen, and plenty of storage areas. The BBQ sheltered area will be relocated but will be beside the new building.
